What is Web 2.0, or What Do "I" Think it is

When we talk about Web 2.0, our inclination is to talk about how things have changed in business around communication and how the solution, such as CustomerVision, is available to serve needs that were not easy in the past, or more complicated, or overwhelming at times (email).

There are a lot of thoughts on what it is as it fits the personal gains of software companies who may or may not have the technology to deliver on what Web 2.0 can and will be for an organization.

Web 2.0 provides an out-of-the-box solution for non-IT people to deliver great web-based information, content and knowledge to a user base.  It provides the capabilities to create a look & feel that coincides with their vision, their current portals, etc.  The Web 2.0 solution provides for easily enabling security where appropriate and creating and sharing valuable content, ideas, and the ability to generate discussion (collaboration) around those ideas.

Recently Mr. Bill Gates discussed the need to move beyond IT, well, we've been building and embracing that idea for over 5 years, that the technology should be powerful, but easy enough for a non-IT person to deliver.  That doesn't mean IT goes away by any means, it just enables IT to focus on what is most important in your organization and other key areas of development.
